OJ Setup → Parts → Bulk CAD import reads a supplier’s DWG / DXF drawings or PDF part
drawings with AI and gives
your profile parts their cross-section picture, their A / B / C dimensions and their profile shape – in one go
instead of profile by profile.

Before you start

  • The Drawing LLM must be enabled in Company Preferences, with a model and an API key. The wizard says
so at the top when it is not.
  • What leaves the building: each drawing frame or PDF page (as a picture) and your list of profile
parts (id, stock code, description, die number) go to the AI provider. One AI call per drawing frame or PDF
page – a supplier sheet often holds several frames, a PDF brochure many pages.

1. Files

Add the DWG / DXF / PDF files (up to 30 MB each), type the supplier, and pick the units for DWG / DXF files
that carry none. When a PDF is in the list a Drawing scale (PDF) field appears: type the scale printed
on the drawing, 1:1 by default, 1:2 when the drawing is half size (every mm is doubled), 2:1
when it is drawn twice the size. Read with AI uploads each file and lets the AI read every drawing frame
of it; the progress shows which file is being read. A file that cannot be read is listed and the others go
on.

PDF drawings

  • Each page is a drawing frame: the AI sees the page as it prints – text, article numbers, dimensions,
    hatching and any scanned picture.
  • A page can hold several profiles, different profiles or an assembly; the AI names each one and
OpenJanela cuts each profile’s outline from the lines of the page under the AI’s box, so every profile
becomes its own row and its own section, measured in mm at the drawing scale.
  • A scanned page (a picture, no lines) gives picture only rows: the page cut to the profile.
On Apply such a row writes the picture (turned to the sill view by the orientation), A / B / C and the shape
by the same rules – but no profile section is made, so it has no outline, points or assembly pairs. Ask the
supplier for a vector PDF or a DWG when you need those.
  • A wrong drawing scale gives wrong sizes: check the mm shown in the Profile column against the
    drawing.

2. Review – nothing is written yet

One row per profile and per assembly the AI found. The AI tells a single profile from an assembly of
profiles (frame, sash, bead drawn together) and lists the profiles inside an assembly; an assembly row is a
heading only.

  • Picture – the profile as it will be pictured (sill view: glass up, exterior left).
  • Parts – the parts the AI recognised; Parts … searches by stock code to add or remove.
  • Orientation – the exterior and the opening. When the AI could not tell, the row says “choose the
opening”: pick it with the arrows (the exterior follows) and flip the exterior if needed.
  • A / B / C in mm (A = glazing tower, B = main body, C = below B) and the shape; both
    editable.
  • AI – how sure the AI was; hover for its note. Rows below 80 % are red.
  • Current picture – whether a part already has a picture that will be replaced; picture
    only
for a profile from a scanned PDF page.

A row is ticked by default when the AI was at least 80 % sure and gave parts and an orientation. A row
without a CAD block (or a picture from a scanned page), without parts or without a valid orientation cannot be
ticked. Needs a check only
and Tick all shown help with long sheets.

3. Apply

For each ticked row: the parts are linked to the profile section, the section is confirmed with the shown
orientation, the picture is drawn and replaces each part’s picture. A / B / C are written only where a
part has none
and the shape only where none is set – values already set are always kept. A
picture only row writes the picture, A / B / C and the shape but confirms no section. Each row is
saved on its own: one that fails is listed and the others are kept. The summary reads e.g. “12 sections
confirmed, 30 pictures, 18 dims filled, 25 shapes set, 0 failed”
.
