On Create Batch, the Filter By panel lets you narrow the list of
confirmed orders down to the ones you actually want to batch — including by a product option
such as colour or finish, so you can put one colour through the shop at a time.

How to use it

  1. Tick By Option in the Filter By panel.
  2. Pick the option in the first list — for example Colour Out, Colour In or
Finish, depending on how your products are set up.
  3. Pick one or more answers in the second list (the actual colours).
  4. Search. The list now shows only orders whose items carry those answers.

Grouping a batch by colour is usually worth doing: it cuts the number of changeovers on the
finishing line, and it puts more identical profiles into the same cutting run, which improves
the optimiser’s yield.

An option only appears in that list if it has been enabled for
batch filtering.
This is a per-option setup flag, not something you turn on from the batch
screen. If the colour you expect is missing from the first list, the option has not been
enabled — ask your administrator to enable it on the option’s definition. It is worth checking
this before concluding that no orders match: an option that is not enabled simply cannot be
chosen, so the filter looks empty rather than telling you anything is wrong.
Exterior and interior are separate
An item can have one colour outside and a different colour inside, and they are normally two
separate options (Colour Out and Colour In). Filtering on one does not filter the
other, so to isolate a single two-tone combination you need to filter on both.
