How Can We Help?
Every window and door item shows one Egress badge for the whole unit.
It is informational only: saving, pricing and validation are unchanged.
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| MET | At least one opening of the unit meets egress. |
| NOT MET | The unit has evaluated operable sashes and none meets egress. |
| (hidden) | Not applicable: not a window or door series, no evaluated sash, or the egress minimums are switched off (all 0). |
Where it shows
- The web configurator design screen (refreshed after every edit).
- The desktop item designer top panel.
- The order line list, on each line.
- Quote and order printouts, on the item line (omitted when not applicable).
How an opening meets egress
The clear opening must reach the minimum area, width and height set in Company Preferences.
If the maximum sill height is set, the bottom of the clear opening must also not be
higher than that above the floor.
Maximum sill height preference
Company Preferences → Egress & code compliance → egress maximum sill
height. Metric is mm×100, imperial is 64ths of an inch. 0 = not checked.
The height is measured from the floor to the bottom of the clear opening:
the item’s height above floor + the opening’s position in the unit + the
bottom member. An item with no height above floor is treated as floor level.
Known limits
- Only swing-type sashes (casement and awning family) are evaluated. A unit whose operable
sashes are all sliders or hung shows no badge. - Items saved before this release show no badge until they are saved again.
- An existing EGRESS option and its rules on a series are untouched and keep working.
