Units of measure

Positions and distances obey the system’s integer-dimension convention. The active unit mode
determines how a value is interpreted:

UOM mode Meaning Stored as
1 Metric mm × 100 (hundredths of a mm)
2 Imperial decimal 64ths of an inch
3 Imperial fraction 64ths of an inch
4 Feet 64ths of an inch (feet shown for display)

Width/height adjustments handed to the notching engine come pre-computed in both systems:
metric in mm/100 and imperial in 64ths. Each operation’s position is then stored in the active
unit and re-formatted per-UOM for the BOM text.

Position expressions and tokens

The position rules (X / Y / Z and the centre adjustment) accept an expression in the
rule’s description, not just a fixed number. Before the expression is evaluated, these tokens
are substituted with live values:

Token Substituted with
WADJ Width adjustment for this part (converted to the active unit).
HADJ Height adjustment for this part.
WMAT / HMAT Matrix-derived width / height adjustment (looked up from a costing/adjustment matrix).
M1 / M2 / M3 Design/option parameters carried on the unit.

After substitution, arithmetic is evaluated — e.g. WADJ + 5 or
M1 * 0.5 — to yield the final coordinate in the active unit.
