Shop paperwork (cut lists, labels, glass orders, packing lists) prints at the station where it is
needed. A report prints at a station when it is assigned to that line + station. Customer documents (quotes,
order acknowledgements) are different: they are attached to a print panel instead.

Before you start

  • Lines, stations and their routing exist (Set up production lines and
    stations
). Only stations on a line’s route appear in the tree.
  • For exceptions per series, the series exists (Set up a new series).
  • The report template file (.jasper) is installed. Your OpenJanela provider supplies the standard ones.

Steps: register a shop report

  1. Open Administration and Setup → OJ Setup → REPORTS → Prod Station Reports,
Report Setup tab. It lists the production reports.
  2. Click New (or select a report and Edit). Name = the template file name, Description
= the name users see, Printer, File Type, Save Dir. Tick Prod (it must be ticked to
appear at stations), and For Parts or For Grids if it is a parts or grid document. Save.
  3. Report rights and parameters are set on OJ Setup → REPORTS → Report Management. If a report
prints 0 pages, check its Report Parameters tab there: a report registered with no parameters prints
    nothing.

Steps: assign it to a station

  1. Open the Reports by Production Stations tab.
  2. In the tree, open the line and click the station.
  3. Click Edit. Tick Used on each report this station prints, then Print (straight to a
printer) and/or File (written to a file), and type a Printer / Station if it should not use the
    report’s default printer.
  4. Click Save. Repeat for each station.

Rows marked as inherited come from the same station on the parent line: assign a report once on the parent
line and every sub-line shows it. Inherited rows are read-only here. The Add Report button does nothing yet;
create the report on the Report Setup tab instead.

Steps: hold a report back for one series

  1. With the station selected, click Exceptions.
  2. Pick the Series and the Report, click Add, then Close. That report no longer prints
at this line and station for that series.

Customer documents and messages

Missing paperwork at a stationCheck, in order: the report has
Prod ticked; it is ticked Used on that line and station (or the parent line); there is no exception for
the series; the station is on the line’s route; and the parts really go to that station (a set station rule above
them that is inactive sends them to the previous station).

Check it worked

  • Finalize the smoke-test batch (Check a new setup works): each station’s reports
print or are written to its folder.
  • The Reports by Production Stations tab shows the ticks you saved after you reselect the station.
